The Christmas holiday season, with its general sense of slowing down, lends itself to reflection and nostalgia. I was looking through some of my Dad’s old papers today found one of our earliest newsletters, along with our first Prayer card from 1987… The kids were 9, 6, and 4. We were — well let’s just say a lot younger! We were preparing to go to Ghana as Bible translators. Starting the adventure.
The newsletter is one of our very first… from the spring of 1988. No pictures. Written on a typewriter kind of computer and printed on a dot-matrix printer. Couldn’t get the formatting to shape up right and didn’t know how to attach photos … (no internet, email, or Dr. Google for us in Africa at that time). Loved finding this today on the stiff and yellowed paper that my Dad has saved all these years…
Blessings to you in this time of reflection, celebration, and nostalgia!
