Coffee Time: Scotland!

Friends asked me and a few others to share recent travel pics from before COVID - I was fortunate to serve with some ministry colleagues in Scotland. Here’s a quick view… Hopefully I’ll get to go again and help complete what we started — if I do, more pics! Either way, I hope you enjoy this quick glimpse of “A bit of Scotland.” Blessings!

Coffee Time: Missing Winter!

This was the shortest winter ever… Vicki and I returned to Colorado in December, after serving in Hawaii for several months… we were looking forward to the mountains… whew, it was not the winter we expected… but we’re grateful nonetheless. This vid has a few reflections on family, especially the joy of extended family. Enjoy.

Coffee Time: Street Stuff!

We love Denver… lots of interesting places to be, things to see and do. Among them is a large variety of street art and building murals. Vicki and I enjoy seeing these artistic renditions all around town… here are a few from the Colfax area. This is an “interesting” part of town to say the least… ask me about it sometime! Meanwhile, keep looking up and as you do be sure to look around too!

Coffee Time: Pelican Brief

Enjoyed meeting a beautiful American Pelican couple over the weekend… They were quite distant, on a sandbar in the river… it took about 30 minutes to ease up close enough to get some good shots without spooking them… elegant birds in flight with a wing span of up to 9 feet… beautiful on the water… a bit “silly” on land… regardless, they put a smile on your face. Enjoy.

Coffee Time: Springtime Beauty with Ella

Ella, my exceptionally kind and creative granddaughter, joined me in some photography this week at the Platte. It was a sweet time together… a tremendous gift to this grandpa… The beauty of creation reminds me of my devotional reading this week in Psalm 66:3, to declare to God “How awesome are your deeds!” I do. I declare it. How awesome are your deeds! Enjoy….

Coffee Time - Bird Love, Owl Mama and Babies!

A dear friend and I took an evening bike ride the day before yesterday… We love conversation, reflection, and prayer along the way. And we made a great find!

A beautiful owl and her chicks were snuggled in their hidden nest down by the Platte River. It was about 11 miles from my house. I returned yesterday in the late afternoon and captured some “candid” pics. It was great fun and a couple hours of hard “hobby work” well worth the effort. The Canada Goose here reminds me of our hearts and spirits being set free. The owls, as you’ll see in the video, remind me of everlasting hope… Hope that I trust you enjoy!

Coffee Time - encouragement from Psalm 16

Thanks for your friendship and your partnership. Coffee Time is a brief video connection with Mike, under 3 minutes I promise. (Longer posts are in the “Reflections” section on the header.)

I’m grateful to connect with you like this. Praying these video-chats will provide some encouragement to you for the journey — Blessings with tons of Agape to you!

Coffee Time - getting started, my first web-based video!

So, I’m trying to be more creative in my connections… hoping brief videos will help! And I promise, they will be BRIEF :)

Here’s my first stab at it… aiming to share more frequently around family, life, ministry - using Pictures, Video, Scripture, and Stories. Let’s connect for a couple minutes… maybe over some coffee or tea… I guarantee it won’t take more time than that. Grateful for you!
